Dubai Golden Visa: Sheikh Hamdan Announces Golden Visas To Mosque Imams, Preachers & Muezzins

Prior to Eid Al Fitr 2023, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai on Saturday announced the decision to grant golden residency to a number of preachers, imams, and religious researchers. The decision was made under the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE. 

The golden vis will be given to imams, muftis, preachers, muezzins, and religious experts who have worked in Dubai for at least 20 years. Besides, it was also decided to give a financial bonus to those religious preachers on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr as a token of appreciation for their service.

Why Golden Visa For Imams, Muftis, Preachers, And Muezzins? 

This decision was made with the aim to provide acceptance to the efforts taken by such religious leaders in introducing Islamic teachings and spreading its values of tolerance, especially in the month of Ramadan. 

Golden Visa is a long-term residence visa offered by the government of the UAE that provides provision for foreign talents to dwell, work or study in the United Arab Emirates. 

Those who are eligible for the visa can enjoy exclusive benefits for their work or study in the UAE. Entrepreneurs, frontline heroes, investors, humanitarian pioneers, scientists, outstanding students, and graduates are those who can be eligible for the golden visa.

It aims to attract young and global talents to the city, to get the attention of those investors who are ready to invest their money in the country, those entrepreneurs who run a commercial project, those skilled and talented persons or leaders in various fields of knowledge, science, and sports and those students with outstanding performance, who have completed their high school or graduation from accredited universities with a total grade point average of 3.8 or above. 

 The benefits of the golden visa include a long-term residence visa that can be renewed and is valid for five or ten years. It will provide an entry visa for a duration of six months that can be proceeded with multiple entries with a residence issuance. 

In the case of the death of the golden visa holder, it grants permission to the family members of the deceased to reside in the UAE till the end of the permit’s duration. It will grant you the privilege of not needing a sponsor to have a valid visa and stay in the UAE. 

With a golden visa, you can sponsor your family members, including your spouse and children without bothering about their age. It will allow you to sponsor domestic helpers without any restriction of limited numbers. Moreover, it grants you the ability to stay outside the UAE for more than six months without affecting the validity of your residence visa.

The Golden Visa program was introduced by the government of the United Arab Emirates in the year 2019. This program was designed to attract global talents and businesses to the city. The program was activated under the guidance and decision taken by the Council of Members. 

Besides it hopes to invite the attention of all doctors and Ph.D. holders, engineers from the field of electronics engineering, computer, electricity, programming, and biotechnology, and those with special degrees in big data or epidemiology, artificial intelligence, and viruses. 

The criteria for being eligible for the golden visa are different for investors, entrepreneurs, students, and frontline heroes. The category of outstanding specialized talents consists of talents from various fields like doctors, specialists in the field of science and engineering, scientists, doctoral degree holders, people with creative ideas in art and culture, athletes, inventors, scientific specialists, and executives.

Investors who own an investment fund in any sector without having any loan are eligible for the golden visa. Those investors in the field of real estate can also claim the visa but they need to produce the details regarding their property and its ownership. 

Entrepreneurs with an economic project that is based on innovation and risk can get a golden visa of five years. The additional details and data they need to produce are detailed on the official website. Outstanding students from high school can get a visa of five years without a sponsor if they are a topper at the national level. 

University students who have completed their graduation can get a golden visa for a period of ten years if he or she has scored a cumulative grade point average of not less than 3.5 for universities that belong to the A class and 3.8 for universities that come under the B class. 

Pioneers of humanitarian work are eligible to get a visa of ten years duration based on their work, The frontline heroes who have showcased excellent work during crises and pandemic situations too are eligible for the visa.
