PICTURES: Snow in parts of the UAE

The weather has been wild lately. On Wednesday, Dubai residents woke up to thick fog, which quickly changed to brilliant sunshine, before changing into a full blown thunderstorm complete with lightning and hailstones by the afternoon.

If you thought that was spectacular, check out these pictures from elsewhere in the UAE. In Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah it’s been snowing, with some roads and mountains covered in a frozen layer.

Yesterday the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology posted a video of hail with the caption “Hail in Al Malaiha now”.  And they aren’t the only ones to post weather updates on social media.

Twitter was awash with rain, hail and lightning pictures yesterday, but today they’ve been replaced by snow. Check out these Instagram snaps showing the result of yesterday’s weather on Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
