9 things to do in Dubai this week

Eid Mubarak for when it arrives! After enjoying the last of the city’s fantastic iftars, there are plenty of ways to fill your week. Take on a fitness challenge or get an introduction to yoga, catch some free comedy, browse the stalls of Ripe Market or head out for a late night.

Catch Dubai’s Eid Celebration
The hip New York style hangout is celebrating Eid from Wednesday until Saturday. Enjoy bar bites or grab a table in the restaurant area for the signature dishes that Catch is famous for, all set to an awesome soundtrack.

Yoga Basics – 4-week course

Comedy – Win or Pie
Head to the Playhouse to watch local improv’ groups battle it out. The evening of comedy has a brutal twist, as the audience get to decide the teams’ fate – the losers will be pied! It’s recommended that you get there 15 minutes before the show starts as the evening is free and seating is allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Dennis Ferrer at Provocateur
DJ, producer and remixer Dennis Ferrer is heading to Provocateur this Friday to entertain the crowd with his blend of house and techno. The New Yorker and clubbing veteran knows how to strike the perfect balance between big electronic tunes and plenty of soul.

Ripe Market
The summer edition of this popular market moves the food and crafts indoors to Times Square Center. There are stalls from local artisans and designers offering unique jewellery, homeware, fashion and skincare. There will also be food trucks and a market filled with fresh and organic ingredients.

Dubai Sports World 2016
The massive indoor sports space is back this summer at Dubai World Trade Centre, offering sports enthusiasts the chance to beat the heat with air-conditioned pitches. This is Cannes – The Act
Set into the glamour of Cannes as The Act transports you to the French Riviera. As well as gorgeous Peruvian food, there will be performances throughout the evening and DJ Cruz spinning a mix of RnB, hip hop and house until late.
