12 things to do in Dubai this week

Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC)
It’s the siren call to the region’s comic book and movie zealots, where seeing Batman in deep conversation with Captain America, or Thor sipping coffee with Superman is commonplace. It really is a fantastic sight. As is the way with all annual events, MEFCC promises to be bigger and better than ever, and if we’re honest, it does actually appear to be this way. Sure, Dr Who and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star, Karen Gillan may have pulled out of her scheduled visit (boooo), but the event is as star-studded as it’s ever been. There’ll be guest turns from your favourite shows and movies, a dedicated video game zone to flex your skills and a tricky escape room to try to get yourself out of. Not to mention the amount of food trucks on standby ready to provide epic portions of fare to hungry heroes.
