84% of Dubai residents are happy
You may have received a text from Dubai Police recently asking you if you’re happy in Dubai. The initiative, launched by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council as part of Gitex Technology Week, was unveiled at the Dubai Police stand.
Apparently 84% of respondents hit the smiley face icon, and over 200,000 people responded in the first 24 hours alone.
The survey was launched as part of an initiative to bring residents a better quality of life. While 84% said they were happy, 4% said neutral and 10% claimed to be unhappy… And there are plans to make these people happier.

As part of a follow up, Dubai Police will call a sample of unhappy respondents to see if there’s something they can do to help. “If the matter is under our jurisdiction, we will help them with it, but if it has to do with another government entity we will forward the issue to the concerned department,” said Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Dubai Police Chief.
Though the police won’t help with personal issues, they will try to resolve anything under their authority.
So it seems that life in Dubai is about to get happier.
