6 things to do in Dubai this week

Take That have barely left UAE soil and we’re already welcoming the next lot of 90s chart toppers. Irish Village plays host to Texas (again!) as the band return to showcase new material and play their old classics. We’ve also got a massive video game expo to keep gamers happy, ladies nights aplenty… oh and incase you didn’t know, Movember is back.

Fashion Swap Shop Night Market
Featuring 30 home-grown sellers, Fashion Swap Shop Night Market takes the ladies night concept to a new level, with shopping, manicures and buy one get one free on drinks. It’s the perfect place to pick up interesting jewellery and unique prints. If you fancy grabbing a bargain, check out the swap rail – just make sure you take something to swap!

Dubai World Game EXPO 2015
As the largest event for the video game and digital entertainment industry, it’s geeks galore as the world’s best developers publishers and gamers all congregate under one roof.

Bradley Cooper plays a top chef who finds culinary fame in Paris. After falling off the wagon and losing his reputation, he takes a job in a London restaurant and peruses his dream to earn a third Michelin star.

A swim up bar is the jewel in this pool’s crown. The beach bar also has a pretty good selection of lunch and light bites for those looking to make a full day of it.

Show Yo Mo at Perry & Blackwelder’s
This is one for the gents. To celebrate ‘Movember’, Perry & Blackwelders are giving a free chicken wings upgrade to those rocking a moustache. Simply show you mo’, and receive a bucket of wings a size bigger than you ordered.

Texas at The Irish Village
Scottish band Texas make their Dubai return with their blend of country/pop. Expect all the most-loved hits from the 90s and beyond such as “Black Eyed Boy” and “Say What You Want”. They will also play some of their new material, proving that after over 30 years, they’ve still got it. Admission is AED195.
