Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Inaugurates Fatima Bint Mubarak Center 

The Fatima bint Mubarak Center at the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi was inaugurated by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office and the Abu Dhabi Executive Council member.

The Cleveland Clinic, located on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi is a “Mubadala Health” partner as well. The newly opened Fatima bint Mubarak Center is a facility with state-of-the-art features that will assist the team in offering world-class treatment opportunities for cancer patients in the United Arab Emirates.

The Fatima bint Mubarak Center Offers Top-Notch State-of-the-Art Facilities

The new facility is named as a form of honor and respect to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation. Her Highness Sheikha Fatima is also the President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and also the Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union.

Apart from Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, the inauguration ceremony was also attended by officials from several international and local organizations and other partners.

Attendees of the event included Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, the Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority and the Group CEO and Managing Director of Mubadala Investment Company; Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, the Vice Chairman of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and the Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala Health; Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Deputy Group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company; as well 

The Fatima bint Mubarak Center is designed and implemented in such a way that it offers the best, most personalized, and modern level of care throughout the entire treatment and curing journey of a cancer patient.

The facility has a very sophisticated setup for screening and diagnostic testing of cancer patients, has the ability to offer advanced radiation-based treatment to patients, and also conducts modern treatment methods such as cellular therapy.

There is an oncology center that spreads across 19,000-sq-metres and is occupied by a team of 150 professionals who have received world-class training including radiologists, physicians, nurses, etc. with advanced experience in offering the utmost care to patients who are undergoing complex and critical challenges related to cancer.

The Fatima bint Mubarak Center is modeled based on the “Taussig Cancer Center” of Cleveland Clinic, which is ranked as one of the top-rated cancer diagnosis and treatment facilities in the United States.

With inspiration from the Taussig Cancer Center, Abu Dhabi’s Fatima bint Mubarak Center aims to bring a transformative methodology in cancer diagnosis and treatment by integrating all the essential facilities under one roof.

The newly opened center in Abu Dhabi also has 32 exam rooms that are dedicated to multidisciplinary-level of consultations for cancer patients. There are also 24 dedicated rooms for private infusion treatment which will be utilized to administer intravenous medications. Also, there are two rooms dedicated to the procedural treatment, as well as an area that is completely dedicated to providing oncology-related services to female patients.

Speaking during the inauguration event, Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, the Chairman of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company, considered the opportunity to inaugurate and privilege to inaugurate the new Fatima bint Mubarak Center while having Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed present at the event.

He also said that the center is capable of providing world-class screening and best-in-class diagnostics facilities to cancer patients within the United Arab Emirates. He further added that the personalized-level treatment options provided within the center will help the outcomes of cancer treatment for patients and ultimately improve their quality of life.

Al Muhairi also mentioned that the opening of the Fatima bint Mubarak Center marks a milestone in the development of the healthcare industry within the region and also enhances the position of the emirate of Abu Dhabi as a world leader when it comes to the industry related to life sciences.

Also speaking at the event was Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, the Vice Chairman of Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi and the Chief Executive Officer at Mubadala Health, who said that he’s proud to be able to witness another vision laid out by the leadership of the UAE turn into a reality.

He stated that the Fatima bint Mubarak Center has a multidisciplinary and well-experienced team providing oncology services. The expertise and knowledge of the team working at the center ensure to offer of a patient-focused and comprehensive approach while developing the treatment plan, which will take the medical history and existing medical conditions of the patient into consideration.

The Fatima bint Mubarak Center will be headed by Dr. Stephen Grobmyer, who is also currently the chair heading the Oncology Institute at Abu Dhabi’s Cleveland Clinic.
