UAE Ramadan 2023 Paid Parking Hours Announced

The Holy month of Ramadan is all set to commence. The time of the year when the streets of Sharjah would be blocked with processions is finally here.

Therefore, Sharjah municipality has already issued a detailed directive notifying the parking hours residents of Dubai in order to avoid any inconvenience during the festivities. The authorities have directed that the paid parking hours from Saturday to Thursday would be from 8 am to midnight.

The parking facilities would be free on Friday. However, the zones with blue information signs would offer only paid parking services even on Fridays.

The municipal order enumerates the opening and closing hours of various public places such as city parks, medical centers, and industrial areas. It was recently that the Government of Dubai also announced the official working hours for public and private employees in the country.

The aim of these directions is to enable the residents to balance their professional and personal commitments. A schedule has been made for Emirate’s government officials and employees and the official working capacity has been curtailed to just 30% as 70% of them could avail the opportunity to work from home for the month of Ramadan

The municipality has announced detailed guidelines for various public places pertaining to their opening and closing hours in addition to the charges to be paid for parking at the defined hours. The city parks would be open from 4 pm to midnight on all days.

The medical fitness centers would operate from 9:00 Am to 5:00 pm on Monday to Thursday and from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The employees working in the Government entities are directed to work from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm on all days of the week.

The ministries and the federal department would also stay operational from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm on the first four days of the week except on Friday when they will work from 9:00 am to 12 pm.

The parking facilities adjacent to these public places have been organized to meet the heavy demand during Ramadan. The Integrated Transport Center in Dubai has also notified the detailed bus schedules and the toll gate implementation timings in advance for the residents of Dubai.

The change in the toll fee timings has also been amended during Ramadan. Toll fees would now be applicable from 8 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm for ensuring a smooth flow of traffic during Ramadan, thereby making it easy for people to commute from one to another. 

These paid parking charges apply to both public and private vehicles. The residents of Dubai can avoid these charges by opting for public transportation during Ramadan. The Abu Dhabi bus services would be operational from 5 am to 1 am every day.

However, some of these services would be operational 24 by 7 in certain areas. The details of such areas have been annexed with the Government notification. As of now, these routes include such as route no. 22, 54, 65, 67, 101, 110, A1, and A2.

In the suburban areas, such services would operate from 6 am to 12 am. However, the buses plying from suburban areas have been exempted from paying any charges for availing the parking facilities. 

The Government of Dubai has further announced to monitor the implementation of these directives across all the sectors to which the present notification applies. The Customer Happiness Center of the Integrated Transport Sector has launched a portal at which customers may apply for online services.

Additionally, the Government of Dubai has also introduced a toll-free number for handling customer queries and requests. The customers may further contact the Unified Service Support Centre of the Department of Municipalities and Transport.

The Government of Dubai has also published circulars and notifications in order to make the public conversant with the latest timings and charges. The official Twitter handle of the Integrated transport sector has also updated all of this information online.

The administration is taking every possible effort to mitigate the burden on the citizens in the best possible way.
