6 Dubai brunches under AED200

There’s no point railing against the brunch behemoth. It’s not going away. And, frankly, you’re not staying away, either. And besides, it’s still a great way to catch up with friends and make sure you won’t need to eat again until Saturday lunchtime.

While the thought of another AED500 flying out of your wallet might not appeal with a week still left until payday, there are many options around to suit anyone’s food palette. Here are some excellent brunches that max out at AED200, which means 12 of you can dine for the price of one sitting at Zabeel Saray’s Royale Brunch.

Girders Garden
Ocean View Hotel, JBR
How much? AED200
Girders can be described as a garden of fun. All outdoor with big tables from groups, the entertainment factor is strong. The garden features a central beer pong table that can result in a crowd cheering your shots and booing your misses, as well as a fussball table and a giant screen on which FIFA is set up for anyone who wants to play. The food perhaps never climbs above standard but it’s maybe not the central focus here. The AED200 price includes unlimited house beverages, and there will often be a stand set up with a drinks promotion from a chosen brand. Last time we went there was a Lynchberg Lemonade station ideal for warm days.

Little Suzie’s Diner Brunch
Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre
How much? AED195
With the American diner concept becoming more and more popular, it was only a matter of time before someone took it into the brunch arena. Here you get exactly what you expect, with burgers, fries, hot dogs and wings, as well as the classic breakfast selections of bagels, waffles and pancakes. It’s also family friendly, with a whole food section designated to the kids, which come in at a price of AED70.

Jazz Brunch @ Pizza Express
Below the Movenpick, Jumeirah Lakes Towers
How much? AED189
The Jazz Brunch menu here consists of pizzas, pastas and salads, which may sound like open buffet at Pizza Hut somewhere in Indiana, but the selection is large and the food high quality. Add to that a select cocktail menu, outdoor and indoor seating as well as live music every week, and you’re onto a winner. For those still standing, pop across to UBK for a post-brunch-drunch promotion as soon as you’re done.

Double Deckers
Al Murooj Rotana, Financial Centre Road
How much? AED200
You’ll probably know this one. You might even fear it a little. The English-themed pub named offers an undeniably great brunch at a reasonable prices, all based around British food culinary classics, including roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. It also features live music from 3pm, persuading you to stay after to enjoy theme nights and extended happy hours.

Certo Brunch
Radisson Blu, Dubai Media City
How much? AED190
It tells you something that a brunch is good enough to tempt members of the Shortlist team, who work right behind the Radisson, to return to Media City on the weekend. We can think of no greater recommendation. The Certo Brunch is a slightly different concept. Similar in theme to the Armani brunch, there is a five course set menu to enjoy with an Italian theme. The menu includes expansive pasta options, pizzas cooked in the tradition wood-fired oven as well as fresh fish and meat dishes. Certo also caters to families, offering a price just for kids and a “fun area” in which they can enjoy toys and not cause too much damage to your patience.

Five Dining Brunch
Jumeirah Rotana, Satwa
How Much? AED179
Billed as “family friendly”, this brunch does have a distinctly 21+ air, which will definitely appeal to many of you. It’s a typically sprawling international buffet, with Eastern dishes, seafood and meats all available, with great views of Sheikh Zayed Road’s skyscrapers thrown in. It will tee you up perfectly for an afternoon in Boston Bar next door.
