Emirates Health Services Launches New “Ghaiath” Project For Emergency And Crisis Management

The Emirates Health Services (EHS) in the United Arab Emirates have launched a new project named “Ghaiath” that will function for emergency and crisis management. Moreover, the project will also ensure that business continuity happens at all times without any hiccups during the Arab Health 2023 event (Arab Health Exhibition and Congress). EHS will also be a part of the event and will be showcasing the theme “Shaping the Future of Health Services”.

The Emirates Health Services entity was formed in the UAE with the objective to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare system in the country, especially the healthcare system that comes directly under federal initiatives.

The primary responsibilities of EHS include developing and implementing preventive measures to ensure that the healthcare sector in the country is well-equipped and efficient enough to ensure sustainable growth of the healthcare sector as well as tackle challenges put forward by epidemics, pandemics, and other diseases.

About the “Ghaiath” Project by EHS

“Ghaiath” is practically a centralized smart digitally-implemented system that will have access to the data related to health resources from the EHS. Thus, the system will have the ability to monitor all the vital processes that run throughout the health facilities that are affiliated with the EHS and will be able to predict any risks, which when avoided can ensure professional and effective responses to critical events, enhance the flexibility and proactiveness in monitoring and conducting operations, as well as improve the compatibility and service integration between strategic partners.

The Phase One of the project will include linking the data available within other entities such as the National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), National Ambulance, Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), and National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The system will also have connections with the health authorities within the emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as integration with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) of the UAE. In the second phase of the project implementation, the system will have an integrated artificial intelligence module, which will allow it to forecast the occurrences of any potential risks within the healthcare sector and provide solutions to respond and recover efficiently from such issues.

The launch event of the “Ghaiath” project was witnessed by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Emirates Health Services; His Excellency Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director Generator at Emirates Health Services; Dr. Widad Al Maidour, Director of Emergency Operations Centre; and other department heads and employees at the Emirates Health Services.

During the launch event, Dr. Al Olama stated that “Ghaiath” is just one of the various projects that EHS has in its pipeline currently. More projects and initiatives will be announced and launched during the Arab Health 2023 event. The purpose of the upcoming projects and initiatives is to ensure that the healthcare sector in the UAE continues on its path of development and innovation and also to ensure that the country’s health system is well-prepared to efficiently tackle and overcome any challenges in the future.

Upcoming projects will also focus on the long-term vision of the UAE leadership, which is to improve the quality of life of people living in the UAE by adopting a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.
