Dubai Ahmed Bin Mohammed Meets Serbian Prime Minister

HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Discusses Bilateral Advancements with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, welcomed Her Excellency Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, today at the Dubai Government Media Office headquarters.

Discussed Bilateral Advancements with Ana Brnabić

The Serbian Prime Minister, along with her delegation, is on a visit to the United Arab Emirates to focus on the advancements and cooperation between the two friendly nations on the exchange of best practices and approaches for the modernization of government services along with a focus on influential sectors of the future such as government media and strategic communication.

He also expressed that the visit will help in strengthening the cooperation between both countries in all fields, and currently focuses on the development of strategic communication and government media.

The Dubai Media Council Chairman also stated that the UAE looks forward to the appreciation of the strong bonds between the two countries, which has grown in recent years under the directives and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, as well as the President of the Republic of Serbia, His Excellency Aleksandar Vučić.

Also, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed stated that under the directives and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Dubai, he wishes to make the experience and expertise of the UAE available to all the friendly countries as a mode to enhance the strategic partnerships between the brotherly countries.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ms Ana Brnabić appreciated Dubai’s development and inspiring growth and also praised the great achievements of the emirate of Dubai and the UAE, including the Expo 2020 Dubai.

Serbia was one of the 190+ countries that participated in the Expo 2020 Dubai grand event. With over 24 million visits within 182 days, the Expo 2020 Dubai gave almost all the countries around the globe, including Serbia, a great opportunity to showcase their heritage, culture, tourism and investment prospects, etc. to a huge audience from different countries of the world. The Serbian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai organized several forums and activities, including the celebration of the Serbian National Day.

Ms Ana Ilić, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister for Creative Industries and Tourism and the Deputy Commissioner General at Expo 2020 Dubai, during her briefing stated that the country’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai was able to host discussions with over 1,000 companies and business people as well as over 70 countries from around the world and was able to generate genuine interest in the fields of investment and tourism during the event.

The discussions with HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed follow a bilateral discussion held early last year in 2022 that Ms Ana Brnabić had with His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and the Minister of Finance in the UAE.

During this discussion, both parties discussed strengthening the relationship between the two nations in areas of mutual benefits and interests. An agreement was also signed between the two countries to improve knowledge exchange as well as to enhance the implementation and capacity development of best practices in the government sectors of both countries. The agreement was signed between the UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi and Ana Brnabić, the Prime Minister of Serbia.

Serbian dignitaries have been continuous supporters of the UAE, and have cooperated with UAE in many instances in the recent past.

Serbian President His Excellency Aleksandar Vučić participated in the 51st UAE National Day reception hosted by the UAE Embassy in Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia.

Along with Mr Vučić, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, His Excellency Ivica Dačić was also present for the celebration. Accompanying them were other Serbian ministers and ambassadors of different nations to Serbia.

The United Arab Emirates has been working closely with several other nations to improve government services and facilities between the partnering countries. Similar to the ones signed with Serbia, MOUs (Memorandums of Understanding) have also been signed with other countries including Greece, Egypt, Colombia, Jordan, Sudan, the Kurdistan region in Iraq, Iraq, Senegal, Barbados, Guyana, Costa Rica, Uzbekistan, Maldives, Spain, and Seychelles.
