Gitex Global 2022 Generated $707m Of Business In Dubai

Dubai’s premier tech show Gitex Global 2022 has been a massive success. The show has been reported to create a total revenue of $707 million as per the Economic Impact Assessment Report. It was attended by a huge crowd of around 170,000 out of which around forty percent were international citizens. The tech show which was conducted at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) from October 10 to 14 has generated 9,600 employment opportunities.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, the minister of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy & Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Dubai chamber of digital economy said that Dubai has been exploring new domains of innovative technology and sustainable development.

He also said that under efficient leadership, Dubai is moving ahead in its venture to create revolutionary paths in the fields of Artificial intelligence, knowledge economy, etc.

Dubai is forging its economic capabilities to build a global economic community that is complete with all the futuristic technologies and developments that no other country can offer.

After the 2019 event, this year’s event has managed to surpass a lot of expectations by forging itself as the world’s largest tech exhibition with a humongous participation of companies on a global scale.    

Gitex Tech show has been one of the key contributors to the economic development of Dubai and the 42nd edition has created a strong impact in the whole DWTC circle. Helal Saeed Almarri, director general of the DWTC said that Gitex Global has put Dubai on the center stage for future tech and this has also instilled confidence in 176 other countries who are looking forward to Dubai emerging as the ideal hub for tourism and tech investments.

The average spending of an international attendee was estimated at $3,500 which was way more than their UAE counterpart and these expenses were inclusive of the travel expenses, accommodation, retail shopping, etc. that were incurred during the visit to the tech show.

This year’s Gitex tech show was the biggest to date featuring around five thousand companies from over ninety countries. The exhibition space was one of the largest reaching over two million square feet.

It was also hailed as the World’s best large-scale exhibition by an independent research consultancy. The crown prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum initiated the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sustainable tech revolution in Dubai by launching multiple projects with major tech companies around the world.
