The “Emarati” initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum aims to provide a comprehensive platform that integrates city services for citizens, making it easier and safer for them to access these services.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has directed the Dubai Digital Authority to collaborate closely with all Dubai government departments, agencies, and institutions to include all necessary services for citizens in the Emarati platform via the Dubai Now application by the end of this year.

Digital platform integration

According to His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Director General of the Dubai Digital Authority, the Emarati initiative is in line with the Supreme Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs’ directives to provide citizens with simple and integrated digital services.

The Dubai government’s strategy and policies are focused on digitizing all aspects of life, with the goal of putting all services in the hands of users and ensuring an easy and integrated experience that covers various services from a unified digital platform.

He also highlighted, the Emarati initiative is consistent with the Dubai government’s commitment to providing comprehensive and integrated services that meet citizens’ aspirations, with a focus on creating a future based on luxury, sustainability, and leadership.

The initiative aims to improve citizens’ lives and happiness through comprehensive and integrated digitization.

As directed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Digital Authority is collaborating closely with all government departments, agencies, and institutions to ensure that all necessary services are included in the Emarati platform via the Dubai Now application by the end of this year.

The Emarati initiative’s first stage

During this first phase, 22 new services will be added to the platform’s existing 131 services. This brings the total number of services available via the 11th version of the DubaiNow smart app, set to launch later this month, to 153.

The goal of this initiative is to make it easier for citizens to access multiple services in one location, eliminating the need for them to visit multiple government departments or use multiple applications.

The first phase of the Emarati initiative will focus on providing services such as housing and construction grants, social benefits, Al Furjan events, the Esaad card, electricity, and water services. Citizens can log into the DubaiNow application and access these services using their UAE PASS digital identity.

The Community Development Authority has added three new services to the ‘Social Benefits’ section, including requests for periodic benefits, home equipment, and temporary housing, as well as the ability to file human rights complaints.

The Dubai Police Department provides the ‘Esaad’ card service, while Dubai Culture offers a service to browse cultural events under the ‘Al Furjan Events’ section.

Events organised by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council will also be included in this section.

The RTA offers free parking permits and the ‘Madinati’ service, the DHA provides the Enaya insurance card service, while the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority supports electricity and water services. The app also enables paying residency violations through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.

The second phase of the ‘Emirati’ initiative will begin in Q1 2023, with over 15 services provided by various entities including the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, Dubai Municipality, and the Community Development Authority.

The DubaiNow app provides customers with a single-window platform to access city services, with ongoing upgrades and service expansion. Future phases will provide even more services from various sectors.
