Sheikh Hamdan Pays Tribute To Dubai Firefighter Killed In Blaze

Sheik Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum shared their heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of the brave Emirati firefighter Sergeant Omar Khalifa Salem Al Ketbi, who had to face an unfortunate death while attending to the fire in Al Awir area in Dubai.

The Crown Prince expressed his sorrows and prayers for Al Ketbi and also paid tribute to the brave men of Dubai’s Civil Defense who sacrificed themselves and put their life on the line willingly to preserve the life, property, and safety of the nation. on Twitter.

In the tweet, Sheikh Hamdan stressed that Dubai will always and forever honor the memory of Sergeant Al Ketbi. Sheikh Hamdan personally visited the house of the brave fighter and shared his deepest condolences.

The Deputy Ruler, the Deputy Prime Minister, and the Minister of Finances, Sheikh Maktoum also expressed his condolences to the family of the brave men.

He said that Sergeant Omar Khalifa Salem Al Ketbi’s memory would thrive in the hearts of the residents of Dubai for his valor and his selfless deeds.

The Operations rooms first received a warning about a fire incident in the Al Kabayel Centre in the Al Awir area at 12:32 pm on Friday 5th of May.

The experts from the Al Mizhar Fire Station reached the location at 12:38 pm. The Rashidiya Fire Station and Nad Al Sheba Fire Station also sent in teams to provide necessary aid and assistance.

The officers evacuated the entire site and spent hours putting out the horrible blaze. The Dubai Civil Defense teams were successful in bringing the fire under control, However, a part of the roof of the building collapsed while the cooling phase was taking place at around 7: 20 pm, which caused the untimely death of Sergeant Al Ketbi.

Mr. Omar Khalifa Salem Al Ketbi was 29 years old and has been an excellent member of Dubai Civil Defence since September 2017.

The second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also expressed his sorrows and deepest condolences to the sergeant’s family.

The Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, also shared his condolences to the family of the hero. He said that bravery and fearlessness are the true characteristics of sincere and committed civil defense personnel who never step back and courageously fulfill their duty at all times at any cost.

Their sacrifices serve as a token of honor and pride and as evidence of the Emirati citizen’s preparedness to offer their lives for the sake of duty and the protection of others ensuring that the United Arab Emirates will constantly remain a land of safety and security.
