UAE Weather: Temperatures Expected To Drop 9ºC, Rainfall Possible

The United Arab Emirates will be facing shifting weather in the coming weeks as dropping temperatures and rainfall is forecasted. According to the National Center of Meteorology, the day will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a probability of rainfall in some eastern areas.

The days will also bring some dust winds on the land and fresh light to moderate winds over the sea. The highest temperature can reach up to 29 degrees celsius with the mercury peaking at around 28 degrees in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. 

UAE Faces Shifting Weather Conditions

The mountainous regions in the UAE can get to colder weather and reach around 9 degrees Celsius. Also, the temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai can also get to lower temperatures of 17 and 19-degree celsius respectively.

The Arabian Gulf will have a rough sea and the Oman sea will be having moderate to rough weather on the coming Sunday.

The humidity in the regions of Abu Dhabi and Dubai is also predicted to be around 25 to 70 percent and it can get humid at night and it can last till Saturday morning in some interior regions of the UAE. 

The National Center of Meteorology advises the people of UAE to listen to weather updates and keep track of climate changes.

The electrical wiring at homes and offices should be checked and maintained regularly to avoid any sort of short-circuiting or other risks. As the UAE is known for its flash floods, people should keep their valuables in waterproof containers whenever there is a possibility of rain and showers.

The authorities should inspect water sewage channels and do the necessary maintenance for avoiding any sort of clogging or obstruction during rainfall. Always keep emergency first aid kits and auxiliary light devices like hand torches, lanterns, or candles accessible. 

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society said last week that the winter season will start in the UAE on 22 December at 1:48 a.m. local time and will continue till March 20.

The winter solstice is also starting on the same day in the northern hemisphere and Al Jarwan noted that the sun will be at its maximum inclination towards the south which will cause the Arabian peninsula regions to have peak winter temperatures from mid-December to mid-February.

The temperatures during this time will start averaging around twelve degrees at the onset of winter to a maximum of twenty-five degrees. Around the time of mid-February, it can come around fifteen degrees to a maximum of 28 degrees. The winter time will be ending by March and the temperatures would climb up to around thirty-two-degree celsius as the summer season would start in the Gulf regions. 

However, visiting tourists from European and American countries find this climate to be a pleasant one compared to the chilling and sub-zero temperatures in their countries. So people who came to celebrate their winter vacations in the UAE are having a gala time as they visit open markets, shopping spaces, etc. in Dubai and other regions in the UAE.
