Talking about the achievements in the healthcare sector, Dr Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at Dubai Health Authority, said “DHA strives to fulfil the mandates in the healthcare sector to place Dubai as the best place in the entire world for availing top-notch healthcare, put in place by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.”

He also stated that “The state-of-the-art and modern infrastructure, top-notch investment, ease of completing regulatory processes, and forward-thinking based approaches, are the reasons that Dubai is able to attract such high numbers of specialised healthcare facilities and professionals into the emirate.”

Dr Mulla further added, “Under the leadership and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, we further aim to expand the private health facilities available in Dubai with the efforts to develop the healthcare sector in the emirate.”

DHA expects that in 2023 and the years ahead, there will be an estimated growth of 10-15 per cent in medical professionals and a growth of 3-6 per cent in the number of healthcare facilities.

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) plays a major role in ensuring that both the public and private healthcare institutions in the emirate maintain their standards at all times, follow internationally approved and standard procedures for treatment, patient care, and other necessities, and all healthcare facilities in the emirate implement and follow all the regulations, policies, and related settings that are in place.

DHA also works to ensure that the public health system in the emirate focuses on providing a protective healthcare strategy for the people, thus ensuring that the health of the public in the emirate is safeguarded at all times and that the quality of life is improved.

The authority is also responsible for issuing licenses, establishing regulations, and monitoring both the healthcare facilities and medical professionals in the emirate.
