UAE Food Bank Partners With Facebook And Carrefour To Distribute 55,000 Meals To Blue-collar Workers During Ramadan

The UAE Food Bank, under these initiatives, has recently partnered with platforms like Facebook and brands like Carrefour to distribute 55,000 meals to all the blue-collar workers employed in Dubai’s Al Quoz neighborhood.

This initiative is in line with the mission of the UAE Food Bank to showcase the relevance of humanitarian services by providing balanced meals to underprivileged and marginalized communities. This reflects the generosity of the people of the UAE.

This program will ultimately spread the message of kindness, compassion, and solidarity in society, which is important for the holistic growth of mankind.

The UAE Food Bank has launched various schemes to provide healthy goods to the workers

Dawoud Al Hajri, The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Food Bank, emphasized the importance of feeding people experiencing poverty and people in need during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Many volunteers are partnering with this initiative to provide access to balanced meals to many local and global beneficiaries.

The UAE Food Bank, through this move, strives to develop a sustainable environment to minimize wastage and regulate the food supply. Meta’s Facebook and Carrefour have also performed good deeds during Ramadan to celebrate its true essence.

The UAE Food Bank has collaborated with various kitchens, restaurants, hotels, food companies, and start-ups for preparing Iftar meals.

These meals are packed in food baskets and distributed through UAE Red Crescent Hotels and Iftar Tents. The Food Bank has also launched an initiative titled ‘Your Harees on Us’ for collecting large donations and distributing the same among people in need during Ramadan.

The initiative aims to distribute around 720 food baskets which amount to 55,000 meals, to millions of people in and around the UAE. Until now, 420 food baskets have been dispatched directly to the workers’ accommodations across various parts of the UAE. The remaining 300 food baskets have been delivered to the UAE Food Bank.

All of the efforts will help raise awareness about the importance of food and the need to prevent wastage through efficient management of surplus food.

Moon Baz, Creator Partnerships Lead at Meta, and Sheila Chaiban, Chief Marketing Officer at Majid Retail, are willing to indulge in charitable work. Meta recently introduced the ‘Ramadan Al Khair’ initiative to offer poor material donations.

The objective behind this initiative was to ensure that the entire community could realize the value of this blessed month. The Government of Dubai is also funding the UAE Food Bank to increase the area of operation.

The government recently announced to dispatch of food baskets to the neighboring Middle Eastern Countries. Dubai has established itself as a global leader in undertaking humanitarian efforts.
