UAE Space Mission: Sultan Al Neyadi Ready For Blast-Off

There will be no chance to alter the timing once the propellant load has begun; the launch window is scheduled at an instant time of 12:34 am Eastern Time. There can be no room for error during the precise timing of the encounter with the International Space Station. The team will therefore only have one opportunity to launch today.

UAE astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi’s backup crewmate, Hazza AlMansoori, has revealed that AlNeyadi is excitedly anticipating his maiden space flight.

The Crew spoke of their excitement for the trip ahead as they left the crew quarters. Al Neyadi said to his family, “We are leaving today!” as they waved farewell to him. 

The crew of Crew-6, including Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, arrived at the launch site in a customized black Tesla with the license plate CRW DR6N.

The crew had been residing in the Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building before the launch, and the sleek vehicle was observed leaving that location. Al Neyadi and his crewmates said goodbye to their families before going on their historic mission for the second time in three days.
